Learn-A-Latte™ Make 'n Takes...To Get Your Creative Juices Flowing At scheduled times throughout the retreat, make ‘n takes will be available free of charge sponsored by the vendors. NOTE: Some vendors may have additional items for sale to coordinate with their make 'n take.
Mojo Bar is Open 24-Hours a DaySome creative supplies are provided for use on projects that you are working on at the retreat. These supplies are not intended for take home use. Please respect this policy.
The Gathering PlaceFood and sleeping quarters are on-site. Five meals are prepared for you -not by you! Coffee & hot water (for tea & hot chocolate) is available around the clock. Chocolate will be plentiful. Feel free to bring your own beverages and snacks. Our accommodations will be in Lakeview Lodge. Your Expresso Workstation, Mojo Bar, Private Reserve Shopping, Design Café, Sleeping Rooms and Dining Hall all reside in the same building. All rooms are dorm-style rooms to bunk with your friends. (you provide linens) There are central bathrooms with private showers. For those of you with too much caffeine, there is also a game area to burn off some excess energy. Wireless internet access is available in Lakeview Lodge. Pop machine, vending machine and handicap accessible restrooms also available. No alcohol is allowed. Smoking is not permitted inside of buildings. For pictures of http://www.bigsandycamp.org/ and click on See BSC. Directions: Go 7 miles north of McGregor on Hwy 65. Turn east (right) at BP Gas Station (used to be Sather’s store) on Cty Rd 14 and proceed 6 miles. Turn left ¼ mile beyond Big Sandy Alliance Church on Cty Rd 36. Proceed ¼ mile, turning left on Old Cty Rd 14. Signs will indicate the route to Big Sandy Camp. For a map go to http://www.bigsandycamp.org/ and click on Directions.
Shop-A-LatteThe Retreat will give you an opportunity to complete LOTS of creative pages/projects. The shopping at the Retreat will be limited as our focus will be creative inspiration & relationships. We will however have a nice selection of consumable products available for purchase. Scrappy HourSpecial promotions and buys will be available during two late night "Scrappy Hours".

Evening Meal on your own. You might want to stop in McGregor to eat or pick up food for your evening meal before you arrive. Feel free to bring your own snacks and beverage. There is space for community snacks if you want to bring items to share. Refrigerator available. Work as late as you like. Sleeping rooms are just upstairs. Saturday

Contests & Flavorful PrizesContests: All contests or challenges are optional. Challenges are designed to encourage that you try a new technique or concept and can be integrated in projects your are currently working on at the retreat. Flavorful Prizes: Fabulous prizes opportunities will be spaced throughout the event.
Deja Brew Rummage SaleA cup of coffee gets cold, we dump it down the drain; but what about our excessive scrapbooking purchases? How do we part with those? Deja Brew is your chance to set out and SELL your obsessive (I mean excessive) scrapbooking purchases at the Create-A-Latte Retreat.
Deja Brew ~ is a chance to buy and sell the supplies we’ve all seen before but maybe never got a chance to use. Need one more of that certain something to complete a page; you never know what you might find in someone else’s stomping grounds.
Design Café - Tools of the TradeFree unlimited use of our Xyron Cutting Systems and all the cutting books (which includes over 12 different fonts and lots of shapes), and a computer with hundreds of fonts and a printer/scanner.
Your Expresso WorkspaceYour seating is assigned and you will have approximately 4’ of workspace with room around you for your tote bags or containers. (2 people per table)
Frequently Asked QuestionsHow Do I Prepare for the Retreat?In order to maximize your cropping time, we suggest having your project goals in mind. For instance, plan and prepare the specific pages/photos you will be working on by having the photos organized and ready to scrapbook along with the supplies needed to put together these pages. At the retreat, the combined creativity of you and the other near you will generate fabulous ideas for your projects. When you are really stuck, there will be a whole room full of very qualified people to offer suggestions. Can I sit with my friends?Of course! Seating is assigned so don’t worry about the time you arrive. Your workspace will be waiting for you. Is it safe to leave my supplies in the crop room overnight during the full retreat?Your Expresso Workspace is yours for the weekend. We trust all the croppers attending the retreat and we do everything in our power to make sure things are secure however we cannot be held responsible for your belongings. What should I bring?
Cancellation PolicyCancellations made prior to two weeks before the event will be refunded (minus a $20 processing fee per person). No refund for cancellations made within two weeks of event date however you can send someone in your place. There will be no refunds for “No Shows”. |
